Montreuil-sur-Mer and its walls
Located 17 kilometers from Le Touquet and the beaches of the Opal Coast, Montreuil-sur-Mer is a beautiful flower town (4 ****) 3 km surrounded by powerful walls.
Nicknamed the "Carcassonne North", it dominates the valley of the Canche.
Although located more than 10 km from the sea, Montreuil-sur-Mer has long been a major seaport. The ships sailed to the port on which the Canche no longer possible today that the navigation of fishing boats and kayaks. This feature explains the common name of Montreuil-sur-Mer.
