Antony Caro - Le Choeur de lumière - Bourbourg

Come and discover the work of the famous sculptor Anthony Caro... and live an exceptional encounter with contempary art, architecture, heritage and spirituality. Monumental ensemble composed of fifteen sculptures, this creation was the subject of a public order in the framework of the renovation of the choir of the Church  St John the baptist of Bourbourg.

Bathed by the coloured  light of the stained glasses, works were designed according to a sculpted path regulated on the figure of the circle, whose central point is the baptismal font which emerges from the ground . Arround, the niches of the choir receive nine hight reliefs made up of rusted and tortured metal  with gushing of terra cotta animals. In the fore choir, two wooden towers attenuate this release of force, as well as two scuplted compositions Alleluia and Paradise Garden.

The ensemble of liturgical furniture supplements the space of the sanctuary and outside, a circular sculpture prepares the visitor to discover the Chapel of light.
